Registration:

Player and coach Registration for all divisions/levels of the 2023-2024 Rockaway Township Boys Basketball (RTBB) season is open.

  • Player registration for the Travel Division is set to close on October 13th.
    • Any player who registers for Travel and does not get selected will be automatically assigned to the In-House Division for their grade and refunded the difference in registration fees.
  • Player registration for the In-house Recreation Division will be open until at least late October.
    • Timeline will be extended for Clinic and High School Rec grade players.
  • All volunteers who would like to coach in any division must also register.
    • Coaches must be at least 18 years old and only need to be RUTGERS certified.
    • Volunteer coaches for Travel teams should also send an email of interest to our Travel Director: troytoriello@gmail.com

Girls in grades 3-12 should register with the RT Girls Basketball program using their website.

Evaluations:

Travel player evaluation and roster selection timelines for boys in grades 5-8 are close to being finalized.  Evaluations are planned to take place according to the tentative schedule listed below.  Travel practices will begin soon after; with games starting as of December 1.
To be considered for Travel team selection, players must participate in at least one evaluation session (two is recommended) and be fully registered in the appropriate RTBB division prior to participating.

In-House Rec evaluations and/or roster selection details for boys & girls in grades 1-2 and boys in grades 3-12 are still works in progress.  We are hoping to have everything finalized for these events within the next few weeks.  It is highly likely they will take place in early to mid-November.  Most teams will begin practicing in December; with games scheduled from January-March.
To be considered for In-House Rec team selection, players must be fully registered in the appropriate RTBB division prior to participating.  Evaluation session participation is not required but recommended if one is scheduled for your grade level.

If a player cannot participate in at least one Travel evaluation session, it is important to send an email to me at rtbbpresident@gmail.com as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours after the last scheduled session for their grade.
